Kohl's Department Stores on expansion mode

Kohl's Department Stores announced the grand opening of nine new stores, bringing more than 1,500 jobs to communities across five states in the US. The company said it adds nine stores in five states namely Maryland, Mississippi, New York, Oregon and Pennsylvania and intends to open a total of about 30 new stores in 2010.

By March end, the company noted that it would operate 1,067 stores in 49 states and also continues to invest in its current store base and would remodel 85 stores this year, a 66% increase from 2009.
